We are also keen to hear from writers responding to the call either in a written form (theory, auto\/biography, poetry or fiction) or through a performative lecture. A collection of texts from this and all other Deep Trash Italia exhibition\/club nights will be published in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Coinciding with the start of the Carnival in Venice, this event&#8217;s themes may include, respond to, be affected by, but not restricted to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Feminist reflections on \u201cwomanliness as masquerade\u201d<\/li>\n<li>How masquerade generates non-binary ideas of gender and sexuality<\/li>\n<li>Carnivalism and the disruption of power structures<\/li>\n<li>Sonic anarchies: mash-ups and appropriations as critique of neo-liberal culture<\/li>\n<li>Subversive drag and anti-drag queens<\/li>\n<li>Dissident travesties: strategies for subverting normative discourses<\/li>\n<li>Neopaganism and creative synthesis in artistic practices<\/li>\n<li>Reconsidering the sacred and the profane in contemporary artwork<\/li>\n<li>Carnivalistic misalliances: working through contradictions and paradoxes<\/li>\n<li>Non-sense and chaos as carnivalesque strategy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply please email Giulia Casalini at info@test.archivioqueeritalia.com with the heading \u201cDEEP TRASH APPLICATION\u201d and include the following information:<\/p>\n<p>1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Name and surname<br \/>\n2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Place of birth (city and country)<br \/>\n3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Place of residency (city and country)<br \/>\n4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A written proposal (no more than 500 words) and, if available, images of the work<br \/>\n5)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Website of the artist\/collective or portfolio<br \/>\n6) \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Up to 5 high res images with credits (for press use)<br \/>\nWe will aim to respond to all applications as soon as possible. Deadline is Wednesday, 24 December 2014.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Archivio Queer Italia<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Archivio Queer Italia (AQI) project was founded by Giulia Casalini (co-director of CUNTemporary) with the support of CUNTemporary in London. AQI is the first Italian platform for queer art, theory and activism. The two strands of this project consist of:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The incorporation of a database to create a virtual archive of artistic, theoretical and activist expressions related to Italy.<\/li>\n<li>Creating spaces and mobile events for the display of such activities (e.g. art fairs, museums, institutions, street interventions).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Parallel to these activities AQI regularly publishes news on queer and feminist issues and lists events and activities taking place in Italy.
